Shelby Clark, Founder and CEO
Shelby first tried carsharing when his car died after a cross-country move to California in 2007, and he was forced to look for a new way to get around. He loved being able to live car-free, but thought that carsharing would work much better and grow much faster if it were 'for the people, by the people,' so he founded RelayRides in late 2008.
Shelby comes to us from Harvard Business School, where he cultivated his passion for entrepreneurship and social impact and was inspired to found RelayRides. Before Harvard, Shelby helped launch three socially-focused startups. Most notably, he was one of the earliest employees at Kiva.org , one of the fastest growing non-profits in history, where he provided strategic direction and built internal systems to scale the organization. Previously, Shelby worked at Oliver Wyman as a management consultant, where he advised Fortune 500 companies on Strategy and Operations. Shelby graduated Cum Laude with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Northwestern University.

Dave Brook, Chief Operating Officer
David Brook has numerous years of experience in founding and running car-sharing companies. He started the first commercial carsharing company in the United States in 1998 — CarSharing Portland Inc. in Oregon. The following year he helped co-found Flexcar in Seattle and the two companies merged in 2001. For Flexcar he helped set up several new markets and provided leadership in technology and operational areas.
Since 2003 he has been an indepdendent consultant for carsharing and new mobility projects around the world. Dave developed a deep interest in appropriate technology and energy issues living in Alaska before moving to Portland, Oregon.

David Schairer, Chief Technical Officer
David is a highly experienced technologist and systems designer, with deep experience in large-scale infrastructure and security. As one of the first engineers at Concentric Network, he pioneered one of the first national ISP architectures and built it into a scalable virtual hosting and messaging platform for Concentric's successor, XO, where he served as CTO of the Concentric group. Along the way his software and service platforms ran core products for the likes of Netscape, Microsoft, and SBC/Pacbell (now AT&T).

Gus Holcomb, Lead Engineer
Gus has nearly a decade of experience designing and building consumer web and enterprise applications. He has been involved with writing software at a variety of Cambridge and San Francisco based start ups including Cymfony, n2N Commerce and Plum. He loves iterative development processes, scalable software and talking about himself in the third person.

Robert Guinn, Director of Operations
Rob is a die hard operations guy who enjoys making sure that everything from technology to customer interactions go smoothly. His background is in the transportation industry where he worked with two startups before joining RelayRides. He is focused on making sure that every RelayRides customer has a positive experience each time they use a RelayRides vehicle.

Boris Mordkovich, Director of Marketing
Boris is a serial entrepreneur and a marketing guy that loves to work with startups and help build them into great companies. He first got involved with startups over 7 years ago and has since then founded and grown three ventures, as well as co-authored a book on online marketing. At RelayRides, his focus is on customer acquisition and growth. He believes that knowing every single one of the first thousand customers by name is what every marketing professional needs to do, so feel free to test his memory by becoming a customer.

Jonah Bliss, Marketing Manager
Jonah's affinity for tech startups started way back as a young teenager, when he quickly learned the mathematical impossibility of running a profitable free web hosting service off of a cheap shared hosting plan. Since then, he's refined his skills and honed his marketing abilities, paving the way to joining RelayRides - a great fit given his additional interests in urban planning. Passionate about social media, Jonah believes that a full social marketing implementation goes beyond whatever the current buzz-worthy website is to actually interacting with customers on the street - after all, what's more social than having a real, live conversation!
